The company

Bihl+Wiedemann - founded in 1992 by Jochen Bihl and Bernhard Wiedemann in Mannheim - is a medium-sized company. It develops and produces complete automation solutions for functional safety and data communication in machines and plants. The company's products and solutions are in use worldwide by leading manufacturers of consumer and investment goods, particularly in industrial automation, conveyor technology and mechanical engineering.

Bihl+Wiedemann is at the technological forefront of automation and safety technology with AS-Interface (ASi) and made a significant contribution to the development of all ASi generations. In 1995, our master was the first to receive a certificate from AS-International e.V., the umbrella organization with more than 300 international partners. Bihl+Wiedemann also played a pioneering role in the market introduction of ASi-5 in 2019. The new ASi standard is downward compatible with all previous ASi generations and allows larger amounts of data to be exchanged significantly faster. Also in the area of functional safety, the Mannheim-based company has been one of the leading suppliers with ASi Safety at Work for almost 15 years.
