About us

In the beginning, the passion to want to do better was what drove the founders. Developing sensors of extraordinary quality and reliability and exemplary customer service. With this vision and the awareness that the concept of quality far surpasses the actual product, ifm started in October 1969.

After many years of intensive cooperation with our customers, we have made a name for ourselves in the market as a service-oriented company and are currently represented in over 95 countries of the world with more than 7300 employees. Although we have grown large, we have kept the virtues from our founding days: the flexibility and individuality of a small company and the quality and professionalism of a corporate group. Our customers are at the center of our work - close to you.

Quality and Service

For us, quality is a concept that far surpasses the product. All our processes are focused on customer service and product quality. We personally assist every customer - anywhere in the world and in any language. And when things need to move quickly, our experts will help you competently. We use feedback from our customers to continuously improve the quality of our products. Special testing methods stress our sensors far beyond their limits to ensure that they deliver on their promises in customer processes. In addition, every product undergoes a final inspection before it leaves our company. We honor this promise and provide a 5-year warranty on every catalog product.

Made in Germany

70% of our products are developed and manufactured in Germany. We are closely linked to the factories in Germany. We are now at a point where we want to further develop the vision of our service motto "close to you." With production and development sites in the USA, Singapore, Poland and Romania, we follow our guidelines and can react quickly, flexibly and professionally to the different market requirements with great expert knowledge. In doing so, all of our production and development sites are established according to the same high German quality standards, both with regard to the working conditions of our employees and environmental protection and with the high quality standards in development and production.

Our corporate profits are necessary capital for creating and securing training and workplaces and for investing in innovation. Within the ifm corporate group, value-oriented action plays an important role. The founding generation laid down all the guidelines in a philosophy that is today translated into 16 languages and handed out to every employee.
