Whether for logistics, electronics, food or the wood or metal industry: with a wide range of products, customized advice and continuous innovation, Schmalz provides the right solution.
The new SCTMi compact terminal is one such example of continuous innovation. This small and lightweight terminal requires little space and is lightweight. This makes the SCTMi ideal for direct use on a vacuum gripper or on a moving axis. Short cycle times and low energy consumption allow flexible use in different types of machines. Control of up to sixteen separate vacuum circuits is possible, with unused capacity sealed by blind plugs. This gives users great flexibility as ejectors can be replaced or replenished within minutes. The electrical and pneumatic control connections are on one level, allowing fast, easy assembly and uncomplicated expansion, reducing integration time. In addition, a reduction in compressed air consumption of up to 80% is possible thanks to the automatic air saving function.
At the heart of the units are ejector discs based on the SCPM compact ejectors, which are available in various nozzle sizes from 0.3 to 1.2 millimeters and operate very efficiently. They are particularly suitable for dynamic pick and place applications with extremely short cycle times. If service is required, the Schmalz ControlRoom app can be read via the integrated NFC tag.
For warehouse and intralogistics, the SPZ layer gripper system is the right solution. In combination with powerful palletizing robots or gantries, production capacity is increased. In the basic SPZ version, the system consists of modular, interlocked vacuum grippers with a large surface area so that the layer gripper can be individually adapted to the layer size. To enable the handling of workpieces that are difficult to pick up with vacuum due to their surface, the system is equipped with a pneumatic clamp, which provides additional stability and strength. Thanks to the patented "curtain concept," the SPZ-M-C with its vacuum chamber offers additional holding power.
For palletizing with cobots, Schmalz has developed the lightweight ZLW gripper. Depending on the model and manufacturer, lightweight robots have a payload of up to 35 kilograms. With its low weight, the ZLW gripper ensures that the robot has sufficient power for the actual handling task. The gripper with flexible sealing elements (suction cups or foam) can handle a wide variety of workpieces regardless of shape, size and surface.
One solution for bag handling is the new PSSG gripper. This gripper is specially designed for handling paper, plastic and fabric bags. This gripper can also pick up other porous bag-shaped workpieces. The lightweight housing made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic closes with a sealing element made of FDA-compliant silicone or wear-resistant NBR. Therefore, this all-rounder can be used in many industries. In addition to use in automated processes, the PSSG also proves its strength in manual handling on the Jumbo Hose Lifters.
