With the FXP-60 and the FMP-60, Schmalz has developed narrower versions of its universal grippers that are finding their way into the glass and wood processing industries as well as the intralogistics sector. The new vacuum gripping system is available in different lengths and with or without an integrated vacuum generator.
Unlike the established 130-millimeter wide version, the FXP-60 and FMP-60 measure only 60 millimeters, making them ideal for use in tight spaces, at interfering contours or for single-beam handling. Performance is not affected, on top of the FXP-60 is an energy-efficient multi-stage ejector that ensures lower operating costs and high operational reliability. The FMP-60 variant is designed for an external vacuum generator.
Ideal areas of application are the automated handling of plastics, sheet metal, glass and wood as well as intralogistics.
Despite its narrow width, the FXP/FMP-60 is not fussy when it comes to workpiece size or position. Thanks to the integrated current limiter technology, the minimum coverage ratio is 50 percent. Thus, even workpieces with recesses or made of porous materials are no problem for the narrow gripper. The gripper is particularly light and consists of an aluminum profile with sealing foam as the gripping surface.
This enables high dynamics in the handling process. The length of the gripper can be specified by the customer in 18-millimeter increments with the minimum length being 316 millimeters for the FMP-60 variant and 388 millimeters for the FXP-60. The maximum length is 1,972 millimeters.
