Alex Pap, former member of University Racing Eindhoven (URE), founded his own company after his student days: XYZ Dynamics. Thom van Oss of Apex Dynamics recently visited Alex to talk about his experiences at URE, his current situation, and lessons learned during his time as a student and team member at URE.
"I always look back fondly on my time at team URE. There I learned that every problem is solvable and I took that with me when I founded XYZ Dynamics," says Alex Pap.
As a former member of Team URE, Alex likes to look back on his time at URE, where he learned that every problem has a solution. He also emphasizes that in a commercial business, every problem must be solved and there is no room for excuses.
"I do like the fact that you became self-employed. Studying is often about freedom happiness, but as an entrepreneur you suddenly get a lot of responsibilities. I like to hear that you still got that from the disciplines at Team URE," says Thom van Oss.
After his time at URE, Alex co-founded XYZ Dynamics with two friends. In starting this company, they set a clear mission: to accelerate the energy transition in the commercial vehicle industry.
XYZ Dynamics specializes in electrifying Ground Support Equipment (GSE) vehicles. Think of the vehicles at an airport, such as the pushback tractors that push planes to the runway. These vehicles now mostly run on diesel, but at XYZ Dynamics they are working to make them fully electric so that diesel vehicles become a thing of the past. This is a good initiative to make the world a little greener again and, of course, it will eventually become a legal requirement.
