On Nov. 13 and 14, BEMAS, the Belgian Maintenance Association, organized the fifth edition of the Asset Performance conference at the Flanders Meeting & Convention Center in Antwerp. This year's event attracted more than 350 professionals from more than 25 countries, an important milestone in the conference's history.
The two-day conference featured more than 60 expert sessions, with keynotes, case studies and interactive workshops. In a lively Networking Hall, exhibitors interacted with attendees and contacts were made during a sumptuous lunch and walking dinner. All sessions were recorded and are now available on the conference's online platform, so attendees can revisit the presentations at their leisure and watch more webinars in the coming months. Attendees also have access to an extensive library of more than 200 recordings from previous editions.
The Asset Performance Conference continues to be Europe's leading event on digital transformation in maintenance and asset management. This year's program emphasized Sustainable Asset Performance, Smart Maintenance & Reliability 5.0 and the application of Generative AI and digital solutions in operations, maintenance and asset management.
"We are proud to offer high-quality peer-reviewed content that provides valuable insights into the future of maintenance," said conference director Wim Vancauwenberghe. "The unique format of our conference allows networking and relationship building with other maintenance and asset management professionals."
In the evening, an inspiring keynote by international basketball icon Ann Wauters was scheduled. In this keynote, Ann "dunked" into the profound impact of data and AI on team performance, providing examples of how top basketball teams are using advanced analytics to refine player efficiency, prevent injuries and create winning strategies. By analyzing real-time data, teams can control player fatigue, optimize rotations and accurately predict opponents' movements, leading to smarter decisions on and off the court.
The conference attracted a diverse audience, with key representatives from Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and the United States. Visitors had the opportunity to interact with 25 sponsors, who presented the latest innovations and solutions in the field.
"We are delighted to have reached such an international audience," added Vancauwenberghe. "The exchange of knowledge and experiences between visitors from different regions enriches the discussions and contributes to the advancement of our industry."
In addition to the conference sessions, visitors will have access to a wealth of information through the online platform, including new webinars and presentations from previous years. By offering a comprehensive online library, the Asset Performance initiative aims to disseminate knowledge about digitization strategies and innovations within asset-intensive organizations in Europe.
"Our goal is to inspire maintenance and asset management professionals across Europe," concluded Vancauwenberghe. "By providing affordable online access to high-quality content, we hope to facilitate continuous learning and the adoption of best practices in the industry."
Asset Performance 2025 will take place on November 4 & 5, 2025 in Antwerp. For this edition, potential speakers can already register their presentation ideas now.
