New series complements steute series of control devices/explosion-proof command devices in compact size

A new series of explosion-proof command devices currently being presented by steute's Controltec division is characterized, among other things, by flexible and direct installation in machine and plant enclosures in hazardous areas 1 and 21. 

The Ex ES 97 series is based on the Ex 97 series position switches, which have already proven themselves worldwide in demanding applications, especially in explosion-proof environments, and whose dimensions are based on EN 50047. 

The switching system of this series (creeping switching, 1 break contact/1 make contact, forced opener) is extremely robust and durable. The separate connection compartment of the ignition protection type Ex e allows flexible connection of cables directly into the connection compartment of the command device. Thanks to the compact dimensions (installation diameter only 22.5 mm), the explosion-proof command devices can be easily integrated into the surrounding structure. 

The new explosion-proof command devices are initially available in three versions: with a push button, a lockable selector switch and a standard-compliant emergency stop button. All variants are suitable for use in explosion hazard zones 1 and 21 (gas-Ex and dust-Ex). Other actuator variants are available on request.

With the Ex ES 97 series, steute Controltec rounds out its range of command devices for explosive environments. Previously, users could choose between the Ex 14 series with connection cable and Ex BF 80 in a robust plastic housing with connection compartment. A third series is now available.
