Nidec Drives, manufacturer of Control Techniques electric drive products, introduces the new KI-Keypad Plus for simplified setup of controllers and applications

As a result of the constant development of its product portfolio, Nidec Drives introduces the Control Techniques KI-Keypad Plus. The most technically advanced user interface to date offers many extras. It makes the controllers even more user-friendly and gives applications and machines more operational flexibility. The intuitive KI-Keypad Plus gives the user easy access to important settings in the controller for optimal machine performance. Whether it is a simple conveyor or a complex multi-axis motion system, this Keypad proves its added value. Using the Keypad also saves valuable time thanks to the Quick Start feature that guides the user through the inverter configuration process.

Thanks to the new large and bright color display, controller status information and parameter descriptions are perfectly legible and always easily accessible. The addition of Bluetooth enables connection to our remote control software. Important tasks can now be performed without opening the cabinet, which means smarter and safer working.

The KI-Keypad Plus enables easy system monitoring. The Keypad can display 10 user-selectable parameters on the status screen. Each parameter can be set individually with custom units to best suit the user's application. In addition, the help function allows errors to be identified. These are quickly resolved thanks to thorough error code definitions, indicating possible causes and recommendations for actions. The Keypad complies with IP54 (NEMA 12). The KI-Keypad Plus is robust and suitable for use in challenging environments.

The Keypad has built-in PIN security. This ensures that controller settings cannot be changed without authorization. In addition, the KI-Keypad Plus is a multilingual solution, with onboard 9 standard languages. Adding more languages is possible. 

The KI-Keypad Plus features Hand/Off/Auto functions. These functions are intended for fan and pump applications in conjunction with the Control Techniques F600 controller for pumps or the H300 controller for HVACr applications.  

The KI-Keypad Plus acts as a universal interface for Control Techniques controllers. Using the Keypad shortens the learning curve for applications requiring different types of controllers. The KI-Keypad Plus is applicable with the flexible Commander C range, the dynamic Digitax servo range, the F600 controller for pump applications, the H300 for HVACr applications, the E300 for elevator applications and the universally applicable Unidrive range.
