The manual chuck ROTA-ML flex 2+2 with 4 jaws from SCHUNK has undergone a thorough facelift. The result: it is now flatter, lighter - and even more flexible!

With the centrically compensating ROTA-ML flex 2+2, SCHUNK has had a low-maintenance manual chuck in the program since 2020 with which almost all workpiece geometries - round, cubic or geometrically unshaped - can be clamped precisely and efficiently on milling and turning machines. The patented drive concept has a particularly large offset stroke of 12 mm per claw. With the revision, SCHUNK has again significantly improved the manual chuck. 

Up to 40 percent lighter

With a facelift of the design from diameter 500 millimeters, the expert in clamping technology has reduced the chuck height by as much as 30 percent. This also reduces the weight of the chuck by 40 percent. The lower weight not only enables higher table speeds, but also the reliable machining of even larger and heavier workpieces. This increases the variety of possible applications with only one chuck and increases the efficiency of machining processes.

The revised base plate of the chuck also provides greater flexibility. The chucks can be quickly and easily mounted on almost any machine table.

Low maintenance thanks to sealing concept

The special seals on the guides are retained. They prevent grease from washing away and gradual loss of clamping force. This ensures that the chuck functions accurately even at low clamping forces. A patented sealing concept protects the chuck body from dust and chips, ensuring greater process reliability and longer maintenance intervals. In addition, an indicator pin on each jaw indicates the optimum clamping range for safe workpiece clamping.

SCHUNK offers the flexible manual chuck in eight sizes from diameter 260 to 1200 mm.
