Functionally safe absolute rotary encoders: also for aggressive environments

When precise, reliable and cost-efficient rotary encoders, linear encoders and compact drives are needed in automation technology, you cannot ignore TR-Electronic. Even when the going gets tough. The compact and functionally safe rotary encoders of the CD_582 series, with an internal dual-channel structure, directly generate an absolute position signal that can be used directly in applications that need to meet Safety Integrity Level 2 or 3 or Performance Level d or e. This series of functionally safe encoders from TR-Electronic has conquered the market at breakneck speed since its introduction. That success is due in part to the presence of the PROFINET/PROFIsafe and Ethernet/IP with CIP Safety interfaces and protocols. Stainless steel version for aggressive environments

With its more than forty years of experience, TR-Electronic now combines this with a housing made of high-quality stainless steel 1.4404, AISI 316L. This means that nothing more stands in the way of using these functionally safe encoders in aggressive environments. The surface of the encoder is smooth because status information and reset functions are integrated into the software and the data on the nameplate are permanently lasered into the stainless steel surface. The uniform connection pattern of the connectors on the side facing away from the shaft and a simplified flange/shaft geometry also minimize the contact surface for liquids and dust. The encoder is available with a protection rating of up to IP67, which also allows the encoder to be washed down.

External geometry remains the same

The external geometry, which ultimately determines the required installation space, hardly changes at all. Where the regular CD_582 fits, the CD_582 can also be used in the stainless steel housing. Standardized connectors give the user access to a wide range of prefabricated cables. Thus, TR-Electronic also has special solutions for special environments.
