24Vdc UPS with supercaps: reliability, ease of use and space efficiency

With the new PC-0424-010-00, Block expands its portfolio in the field of 24Vdc UPS systems. The modules combine instant (<1ms) and automatic switchover in case of power failure. The durable and maintenance-free energy storage is built on the basis of 1kWs supercaps (EDLCs).

The bridging time varies depending on the load. At a load of 1A, it can reach up to 60 minutes, while at the maximum allowable current of 20A, a bridging time of about 2.5 seconds is achieved. For higher powers or longer bridging time, multiple units can be connected in parallel. Charging an empty UPS buffer takes about 1.5 minutes.

With a width of only 55 mm on the DIN rail and no need for clearance on the sides, the module fits easily into a variety of installations.

Thanks to automatic load and temperature detection, operation is simple and user settings are unnecessary. Two potential-free signaling contacts and 3 LEDs provide clear feedback on operating status.

In addition to this UPS system, Block also has power supplies and electronic fuses with the same build to offer professional and aesthetic integration.
