igus offers a unique 4-year warranty on its products

Even greater operational reliability and durability thanks to billions of test cycles in its own laboratory

The chainflex cables were just the beginning: igus now offers a warranty of up to four years for all products with a predictable service life. Customers therefore benefit from long-term investment security and reliable service in the event of a warranty claim. The long service life of motion plastics saves resources and thus contributes to increasing sustainability in the industry.

A four-year warranty on a large part of the product range is unparalleled in the industry. Not for igus: effective immediately, the Cologne-based company is offering its customers a warranty of up to four years on all motion plastics products with an igus lifetime calculation - and after all, that is the majority of the company's countless products. In the future, customers will benefit from the warranty on cable beads and chainflex cables, drylin linear and drive technology, dryspin wire spindle technology and components such as plain bearings or semi-finished products made from the company's own iglidur materials. The range of products with warranty is complemented by the xiros ball bearings, igubal spherical bearings, gears, pinion bearings and also the 3D printed components created in the "iglidur Designer" online configurator.

Long service life thanks to in-house testing laboratory

This exceptional guarantee is made possible by the 3800 m² large testing laboratory at the company's headquarters in Cologne. There, igus subjects its products to numerous and application-specific long-term and endurance tests. A total of more than 15,000 tests are conducted each year. The experience gained during the tests is fed into igus' online lifetime calculator, which enables companies to know how long a component will last before they buy it. It was now just a small step from the reliable data from the lifetime calculators to the introduction of an extended 4-year warranty on the product range. "The warranty allows our customers to design their individual application just right and always choose the most cost-effective product that is sure to work," explains Roy Snellens, Bearing Technology Product Manager at igus B.V. The 3-year warranty, which previously applied to igus cable beads and cables, proves that the warranty is well received by customers. Last year igus already extended the warranty on chainflex cables to four years and now most other igus products are following suit. The new regulations apply for up to four years after delivery or for the individually calculated number of double strokes or operating hours per product - whichever comes first.
