SICK CODE-LOC: the cost-efficient solution for the localization of mobile platforms

For proper control of mobile robots, AGVs, AGCs, AMRs and other mobile platforms, information about their exact location and orientation is essential. With CODE-LOC, SICK introduces a new localization software that makes it possible to locate platforms based on 2D codes on the floor. CODE-LOC is a cost-effective solution. Ideal for mobile platforms without LiDAR sensors and for dynamic environments with constantly changing contours.

CODE-LOC is installed on the mobile platform controller and works in conjunction with a SICK Grid Localization Sensor (GLSxx). Ideal applications include goods-to-person picking processes, where complete shelves are transported by AGV systems from a large warehouse. CODE-LOC also allows for excellent use in the block warehouse and in sorting applications in large halls.

CODE-LOC can be deployed as a stand-alone software solution or used as part of application software LiDAR-LOC2. This allows mobile platforms to be located in many different environments.
